Second wave of Covid-19: France imposes new measures on travelers

Due to the latest developments in the global health crisis, French health authorities have tightened measures to stem the spread of new variants of the Coronavirus. To this end, they have put in place specific health measures for travelers who want to go to France.

As of January 18, 2021, travelers wishing to go to France, coming from a country outside the European area (European Union, Schengen area, Andorra, Vatican, San Marino, Monaco), must present to the boarding the result of a biological virological screening test (TEST PCR) carried out less than 72 hours before the flight from the date of sampling and not concluding that there was contamination by covid-19.

These people will also have to agree on the honor to isolate themselves for seven days once they arrive in France, then to repeat a second PCR test at the end of this seven-day period.

Travelers to France for compelling reasons, coming from countries where this PCR test cannot be carried out before departure, will have to apply for a consular pass, and will be imposed a test on arrival in France. They will have to remain in solitary confinement for seven days in a facility designated by the authorities.
